TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please note that the Carlisle event is different to our other events as it is purely an auction.
We have also had to make changes to our Terms and Conditions, these can be found in the menu above under Events.
CLARIFICATION OF THE BLA AUCTION FORMAT
The BLA are getting ready for any possible future legislation covering Livestock sales at Auctions. The sale of Livestock (in our case this means fish, shrimp and snails) is coming under scrutiny. To ensure we are ready for this, we have had to make a few changes to the Auction format.
PRE-BOOKING OF AUCTION LOTS
Our Auctions are already using a system of pre-book Auction Lots. This system works well when correctly followed. However, when it isn’t correctly followed it can cause delays to the start of the Auction and a lot of stress to those who have to bring it back on track.
Pre-booking your Auction livestock solves many issues and headaches for us as organisers of the event, the most improtant thing it does is it allows us sufficient time to populate the auction spreadsheet so we can record all livestock sales.
Don’t worry, we fully appreciate that deciding what to put on the booking form prior to the auction and actually catching and bagging on the day are two different things. There will be time for you to confirm and where necessary alter your booking form prior to the auction.
PLEASE NOTE: –
All lists must be Pre-booked, we do not accept auction lists submitted on the day.
All information required by us must be easily cut and pasted from the booking form or an email. Photographs of your auction lots are not be acceptable.
AUCTION LOTS
We are a Livebearer association and advertise this auction as a livebearer fish auction. This does not exclude non livebearers, we do ask that you are mindful of the fish you would like to enter for auction.
1). Each Seller will be allowed to enter a maximum of 50 lots into the auction.
2). We will restrict and where necessary stop a seller entering livestock that we believe will not sell and could disrupt the flow of the auction.
3). Unsuitable fish for auction such as large aggressive hybrid cichlids (flowerhorns etc) will not be allowed into the auction. If in doubt ask first.
Please note that any lots that cause the auction to falter due to the following reasons will be withdrawn at the time and re-offered at the end of the auction.
a) No interest from the buyers in a particular species.
b) Too many lots of a particular species.
c) The reserve price is set too high
(in this case the seller will be given the opportunity to drop the reserve price in an attempt to generate interest before they are withdrawn).
COMMISSION CHARGED
Our main concerns are the smooth running of the auction and ensuring the auction starts on time. To help with this, we have made some adjustments to our commission structure.
Our standard commission rate is 15% on auction sales and is available to all sellers provided they fulfill the following criteria.
1). Auction lists must be submitted before Saturday evening 6.00pm
2). The seller confirms the auction list (including any alterations) a minimum of 90 minutes before the auction is due to start.
A rate commission rate of 20% will be applied to late pre-booked auction lists and/or late confirmation of the auction list on the day.
PLEASE NOTE: –
We do not wish to charge anyone the higher rate unless we have no option. Please contact us if your pre-booked auction list or your confirmation of your actual auction list is going to be submitted late. Our main priority is a smooth running auction that starts on time.
