W.T.Innes in his book Exotic Aquarium Fishes mentions an introduction in 1935. He places this sp. in the genus Neotoca. |
| Breeding Notes |
Innes in the above book mentions that the female needs to be fertilized for each brood of young. He mentions that 5 broods per year are possible in good conditions. Brood sizes were reported at 5 - 40 depending on the size of the female. Parents are reportedly not fry eaters. Maturity takes 3 - 6 months. |
